We use a combination of treatments, all of which are predicated on the specific needs of the individual patient.

After taking history and completing a physical exam including an orthopedic and neurological exam, we develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment plan which includes non-invasive therapies such as spinal manipulation, soft tissue therapies, exercise rehabilitation, electrotherapies, heat and cold therapies, and nutrition counseling.

Based on the need and tolerance of the patient, we utilize high velocity low amplitude, as well as gentle non-force spinal and extremities manipulation/mobilization.

Postural Exercises for Children & Adults

Backpain and neck pain becoming more common in children and adolescents

Back and neck pain was once seen purely as an affliction of older people. However becoming more common among children and adolescents. A recent Australian study which followed 434 young people from age 13 to 17 years over five years revealed that low back pain was common and increased with age for both boys and girls. Each year they were 40% higher than the previous year. There are a number of reasons for this including acquired poor posture in early age due to increased use of computers, watching TV, and playing computer games which have been linked with neck, back pain and headaches. Poorly designed school furniture and inappropriate backpack use could also be to blame.
Exercise program to help with proper posture

Fortunately, there are a number of things that can be done to reduce the risk of suffering neck and back pain. Children and adolescents need to be checked and evaluated for postural abnormalities. Acquiring and maintaining proper posture during daily activities is a skill that children need to learn and develop in early age establishing good postural habit for their life. I have designed an easy to do exercise program for kids and adults and organized it in a series of 6 to 7 one on one lesson plans so it can be taught in my office. The exercises are easy to remember and you will be given written guides that you can follow at home.
Simple exercises

These simple, engaging spinal exercises designed to promote spinal health and improve posture alleviating pain and discomfort. Children sit with better posture and concentrate better in classroom optimizing their school and work performance. As a parent of three children and a musculoskeletal specialist, I believe these postural exercises are the most valuable lessons that kids could learn. I would like to invite you and your kids to take advantage of them. Appointments are available on week days and weekends. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you have questions. You can email your questions or call and I will answer as soon as I can.

Massage Therapy

Massage can be a powerful assistant to the healing process

Massage helps to relieve tension and pain in muscles. Massage can be a powerful assistant to the healing process of injured muscles, tendons, and ligaments by increasing circulation and thereby decreasing inflammation and congestion in the tissue. There are specific massage techniques that can assist in the prevention of buildup of adhesions and soften and decrease existing scar tissue.

Massage and Chiropractict treatment together

Massage and chiropractic treatment work well in conjunction with each other. Massage can reduce the rigidity of muscle tissue which allows the patient to feel more relaxed in preparation for a chiropractic adjustment. Massage can help to decrease tension in the muscles, decrease stress, increase circulation and mobility. Massage techniques can help improve mobility post-surgery with gentle Range of Motion, Cross Fiber Friction at injury sites to reduce adhesions.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is helpful to reduce edema following surgeries and cancer treatments. LDM consists of gentle superficial draining to move lymph fluid to the body’s drainage centers to assist with the removal of lymph fluid and decrease healing time.

Massage therapy and immune system

Studies currently being conducted prove that massage therapy can improve and strengthen the immune system for some people who receive treatment on a regular basis.
